Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema was born in Benin City, Edo State on the 1st of May 2000. As a teenager, Rema lost his father and older brother to the cold hands of death, leaving him, his mother, and sister to survive on their own. It wasn’t rosy at all for them.

They had to work extra hard to eat and meet ends needs. This was why Rema decided to give music a chance and see how far he can take his talent. After his secondary education, Rema decided to go into music full time.

Rema began singing while in his late teens. For years, he kept recording low-quality songs that didn’t attract the attention of the public, but he didn’t allow that to deter him rather he kept maintaining a positive attitude until his Breakthrough came.
